Conference held at PIXAR Animation Studios
Michelle Eppley
I recently attended the XV Annual Pacific Voice Conference at PIXAR Animation Studios in Emeryville, California. The conference explored the relationship between voice quality and emotions, including perception, production, disorders and treatment.

Cutting-edge research was presented in many areas such as:

  • Vocal emotion across cultures and languages
  • Positive vs. negative stress in performers
  • The effects of vocal emotions on human- computer interactions

Techniques in storytelling, popular singing styles, and improvisationsal acting were explored. I have brought back many new and exciting ideas. It was a fantastic conference! For a detailed look at the conference program, click here.
